The Friends of Bronx Charter School for Excellence, Inc. [FBCSE] is the support entity for the Bronx Charter School for Excellence. Its mission is to provide fundraising, financial, technical and programmatic assistance to BCSE in order to ensure the school continues to sustain its high quality educational program for school–age children in the Parkchester section of the Bronx and its surrounding communities. FBCSE seeks to fill an educational need in this community now undergoing a long–awaited economic resurgence. Through its support of BCSE, FBCSE believes it can play a significant role in the redevelopment of Parkchester by providing families with a chance for educational stability for their children.A major project of FBCSE has been to secure the school's permanent home in Parkchester. To date, FBCSE has signed a lease/purchase agreement on a building and property in Parkchester that it has subleased to the school. The school, with the help of FBCSE, completed renovation of this space. FBCSE plans to exercise the purchase option and build another building to house a middle school. To secure the purchase option, FBCSE has already put down a $1 million down payment. FBCSE will undertake a strategic plan and capital campaign to complete this project. Stay tuned for details.
